Drake Loeb PLLC recently hosted a dinner at the LEGOLAND Hotel in partnership with the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp to discuss economic development projects in Orange County, the success of LEGOLAND® New York, and what’s next for Orange County.
Among the attendees were Drake Loeb Partner Dominic Cordisco, who acted as lead attorney for the LEGOLAND® New York project in Orange County; Marianna Kennedy and Glen Heller, business attorneys and Partners at Drake Loeb; Mike Oates, President and CEO of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp; Stephanie Johnson, Divisional Director of LEGOLAND® New York; Megan Glander from Senator Chuck Schumer's office; and Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus.
The group discussed a wide range of topics including the push to support employment opportunities at places such as LEGOLAND® New York for underserved communities, including providing transportation to facilities from affected neighborhoods, and the continued focus of development of the tourism corridor now consisting of LEGOLAND® New York, Woodbury Commons, Resorts World, and other venues and destinations. Also noted by Amanda Dana from Orange County NY Film and Tourism Office was the influx of film production studio development and filming projects throughout Orange County, driving a new economic sector for the area and adding to the potential economic growth of our region.
