Originally from Long Island and now relocated from Brooklyn to the Hudson Valley, Michael Martens is an attorney who brings to Drake Loeb PLLC clients an approach that is born of his experience with tough New York City judges and no-nonsense commercial clients. Martens says his focus on commercial real estate development clients during his time as an associate in Brooklyn honed his abilities as both a litigator and client counselor in unique ways.
He explains, "The clients I had the pleasure of representing allowed me to receive broad and in-depth experience. Their businesses required me to handle everything from lease and construction contract review to landlord-tenant proceedings, along with personal injury cases, insurance defense, and premises liability plaintiff work. I learned how to make my points clear, and concise, and to be able to articulate those points quickly. Neither my clients, the judges I routinely appeared before, nor the opposing attorneys had the patience to listen to unfocused arguments. They had caseloads to manage, businesses to run, and buildings to construct. It was a great learning ground for a new attorney."
Martens will use his experience to aggressively represent our clients' interests in a broad area of litigation and commercial matters.
