Municipal Law Attorney

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited Law School
• Licensed to practice law in New York
• Minimum of two years of recent experience in New York handling municipal law work through representation of town or village boards, zoning boards, and/or planning boards. Litigation experience defending municipalities a plus
• Superior oral communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Willing to live in or relocate to the Lower Hudson Valley
• Passion for the practice of law

Responsibilities

• Work closely and collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals to manage a municipal law  caseload; some related litigation work.
• Communicate effectively with Drake Loeb staff and attorneys, clients, court clerks, vendors, and outside attorneys

Litigation Attorney

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited Law School
• Licensed to practice law in New York
• A minimum of 3 years of recent NY litigation experience; however, candidates who fall short of the minimum will be considered if they possess other qualifications
• Specific experience in handling pleading and motion practice, all phases of discovery, and settlement; trial experience is not required but preferred
• Superior oral communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Willing to live in or relocate to the Lower Hudson Valley
• Passion for the practice of law
  
  

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, handling matters from pleading stage though to settlement/trial stage
• Work closely and collaborate with other attorneys and Partners on legal matters
• Communicate effectively with Drake Loeb staff and attorneys, clients, litigation vendors, and outside attorneys
