On April 8, 2008, the Village of Cold Spring reappointed Drake, Loeb, Heller, Kennedy, Gogerty, Gaba & Rodd PLLC as the Village's Attorneys. Stephen J. Gaba, Esq., a partner at the firm, will continue as general counsel to the Village and as attorney for the Village Board, Planning Board, and Zoning Board of Appeals. Mr. Gaba’s practice is devoted to municipal law, land use and litigation.

In a February 20, 2008 article in the Putnam County News and Recorder, one newly re-elected Village Trustee voiced satisfaction with the representation provided by Mr. Gaba and his firm, stating: “[t]he firm has a number of lawyers that only do municipal work, and therefore have exceptional knowledge in this area…This depth of knowledge and experience save[s] on attorney time and Village taxpayer money. [Additionally], this expertise makes them capable of doing any litigation work in-house, thereby saving on the higher rates charged for this work by outside firms.”
